Founding Shareholder Program

Conceptually applying the model of the financial stock market to the art world, HOLDING Contemporary offers the public "shares" of the gallery as a way to support an emerging arts space. This experimental program uses the language and systems of Capitalism—specifically, corporations—to confront ideas of power, privilege, and access in the Art World.

Our initial IPO, launched in 2017, consists of 300 shares valued at $100 each. Shareholders receive gallery financials, dividends based on sales, special discounts, invitations to events, artist ephemera, and more.

Our Founding Shareholders include artists, professors, students, art-lovers, the art-curious, friends, and family from all over the world.
